Kirkside Inn

Site Resources Analysis

Cycle, as a subconsultant to Mapos Architects, has participated in the design of a regenerative hospitality development project in Roxbury in the Catskills, NY. The work has involved a series of community workshops to define the essence of the place and create a site program and designs for architectural redevelopment. Cycle conducted a Site Resources Analysis to compile a holistic understanding of the existing conditions of the environment encompassing Kirkside Inn to inform the design team’s schematic layout and program.

The purpose of the Kirkside Inn project, as defined by community stakeholders, is:

“To transform Kirkside into a welcoming inn and immersive educating facility that encourages and supports entrepreneurs, incubates hospitality businesses, and cultivates the local food system,

in a way that engages the community, with transparency and sharing, in a creative process that builds commitment and inspiration for reviving Roxbury, its historic integrity, and its unique essence,

so that this vital property serves to seed regenerative practices in the hospitality industry, transform the regional food system, and continuously grow the quality of life in Roxbury for generations.”
