Cycle provided construction phase services for this 36-unit supportive senior housing building for CAMBA Housing Ventures: one of the only buildings on Staten Island with those services. The building was flooded during Hurricane Sandy and this re-build was made possible by the NYC Build it Back program.

This project and the team that realized it persevered through all manner of surprises and set backs, not least of all of which was the pandemic which made things particularly challenging within the occupied building, as well as several unforeseen historical details that made the construction all that more complicated. The results though, were units with 4-6' higher ceilings, the return of original historical arched windows, removals of unsightly fire balconies, the revelation of historical storefront cast iron columns and brick piers now featured in the new storefront for the community room, flood-resistant materials and systems at the first floor, a safer sidewalk, new efficient equipment and envelope, and a building prepared for its next 50 years of existence. All of this resulting in a more beautiful, enjoyable and comfortable place to live.
